NOTICE OF PROPOSAL TO SELL CITY OWNED REAL ESTATE AND ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS THEREON
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the City Council of the City of Spring Valley, Bureau County, Illinois will receive sealed bids for the purchase of the following described residential real estate:
Parcel 1: 505 E. Cleveland Street: PIN: 18-35-330-002
Parcel 2: 325 E. First Street; PIN: 18-35-165-010
Parcel 3: 406 E. Minnesota Street: PIN: 18-35-358-004
Bids for the purchase of the above-described real estate are hereby solicited and must be received by the City Clerk at 215 N. Greenwood Street, Spring Valley, IL 61362, by 3 PM on July 18, 2022. Any such proposal must be made on the “Request for Bids/Proposals” form available at the Clerk’s office. A certified or cashier’s check payable to the City of Spring Valley for ten (10) percent of the amount bid must accompany each bid, which check will be returned if the bid is not accepted by the City in a reasonable amount of time. All bids will be opened at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Spring Valley to be held on July 18, 2022, at 7:00 PM at City Hall of said City.
A contract may be awarded to any bidder whose bid is found by three-fourths of the corporate authorities to be in the best interests of the City. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding. The City also reserves the right to review and study any and all bids and to make a contract award within thirty (30) days after the bids have been opened and publicly read. Any closing shall occur within thirty (30) days of the acceptance of any such bid by the City Council. Any such sale will be subject to any real estate taxes due and payable following the date of closing and is further subject to all covenants, easements, conditions, and restrictions of record.

Water Meter Replacement
The city is in the process of changing out all water meters to updated auto read meters. Please call City Hall at 815.664.4221 between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday to schedule an appointment to install your new meter. Please make sure inside water meter is accessible.

Burning Hours
Burning is permitted, on Mondays through Saturdays, and on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. between October 1st and May 1st of each year.
No burning is allowed on Sundays from May 1st to October 1st.
Burning of building & construction materials is NOT allowed.
No leaf burning is allowed on city streets and sidewalks; except on brick streets with such burning limited to waste generated by the lot immediately adjacent to the city street. Burning of leaves is allowed on private property with supervision present until the fire is extinguished.
No Burning allowed on any days that Hall High School has a home football game.
